LE-PAROLE

(LE2-4017, IV Framework Program,
Telematic Applications of Common Interest, Language Engineering)

LE-PAROLE has produced a large-scale harmonised set of corpora (20M words) and lexica (20K entries per language) for all European Union languages. The resources have been produced in a standard format supporting selection and customisation. They will have a wide range of applications; for IT developers they will serve as extensive basic resources, which would be expensive to produce, which can be used in developing and testing applications; for publishers, they will aid in the production of language learning material and for academic research they provide both basic resources and a basis for comparative analysis.

For Spanish a lexicon has been developed containing 22054 morphological entries with 28054 sintactic units related to them.

Results:

The project, finalised in April 1998, distributes its results through ELRA.
