The Research Group on Governments and Markets comprises researchers from the University of Barcelona, Columbia University and European University Institute. The primary objective of our group is to perform high quality research in economics and in other related disciplines linked to our primary field of analysis: the interaction between governments and markets. We are concerned with the analysis of motives and effects of public intervention on markets, and the implications of the public policy issues that are analyzed. Among other actions, we put an especial emphasis on the internationalization of our research activities. Furthermore, the Research Group on governments and markets hosts the Pasqual Maragall Chair of Economics and Territory.
