Welcome to Gracmon
GRACMON, Research Unit on History of Contemporary Art & Design, is the most reputable academic research group on the issues of Modernisme, Noucentisme and Catalan design.
Counting more than 20 years of activity, GRACMON gathers researchers from the departments of History of Art, Aesthetics and Design & Image from Universitat de Barcelona. Working in a truly multidisciplinary fashion, and specializing in some of the most outstanding fields of Catalan aesthetic production, GRACMON has delivered a good amount of publications, applied research projects, events and exhibitions.
In its origins, the group was fully dedicated to the study of all artistic aspects of Modernisme and Noucentisme. Nowadays, it also develops research lines on issues like contemporary catalan design or the spaces of leisure in the Barcelona of 1900.
