Goorgorlou: the documentary about the sub-Saharan collective that collects scrap in Sabadell

Nowadays, when CIC students are coursing second quarter of second grade, they have a subject called “The process of audiovisual production”, taught by the teachers Marta Ávila and Endika Rey; where the students have the chance to shoot shortfilms, documentarys and pilot series episodes in order to get involved in the cinematographic world.

During the 2016-2017 course, the students Mar Almansa, Sílvia Blanco, Andrea Cuevas i Maria Sardà decided to create Goorgorlou, a 15 minutes documentary shortfilm about the sub-Saharan collective that collects scrap in Sabadell. As they say, they didn’t want this work to be strictly academic, that’s why they have decided to continue with this project and use the documentary as a tool to social awareness.

The past 18th of december, and during the International Migrants Day, an event where the documentary was screened was held and, afterwards, the four main characters of the film had a very interesting discussion about the experience.

The event, that was very well accepted, was coorganized by Colors del Món and the SCAI de Sabadell (Citizen Service of welcoming Immigrants), and also collaborated Casal Can Capablanca of Sabadell, where the event, the screening and the later disccussion took place.
