My name:

The full version of my name is Jędrzej Piotr Grodniewicz. However, since my first name is very difficult to pronounce and memorize for everyone except native Polish-speakers, I use it only for official documents, boarding passes, etc. For the purposes of regular communication, I stick to initials.

I work towards my PhD at the University of Barcelona under supervision of Manuel García-Carpintero and Josep Macià. I have obtained BA degree in philosophy from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (2012) and MA in analytic philosophy from the University of Barcelona (2013). Before joining the PhD program and LOGOS, I conducted a two-year research project in philosophy of language and mind fully-funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2013-2015).

My research interests lie primarily in philosophy of language and its intersections with the philosophy of mind, epistemology, and philosophy of cognitive sciences. In my dissertation, I will try to outline a new—philosophically attractive and empirically adequate—account of linguistic understanding.

I am currently funded by an FPI grant as a member of the project "About Ourselves" exploring tortuous paths of de se thoughts and contents.
