Having received his Habilitation from the Freie Universität Berlin in December 2004, Sven was awarded a three-year Heisenberg Research Fellowship from the German Research Council (DFG) in October 2005. From October 2000 until September 2005, he was Assistant Professor at the FU Berlin, where he is Privatdozent since December 2004. Before taking up his post in Berlin, Sven spent one year as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosóficas (UNAM), México. He was awarded his PhD from the University of St. Andrews in September 1999. In September 2003 Sven became an Associate Research Fellow of Arché, since September 2007 he is Member of the LOGOS Group.

Interests

Sven’s main research interests are in epistemology, metaphysics and the philosophy of mind and language. He is particularly interested in realism, objectivity, truth, understanding, the philosophy of time, the epistemology of logic, vagueness, metaethics and the limits of thought (if any).
