Abstract

In past work (López de Sa 2008), I have submitted a presuppositional indexical contextualist relativism account of (some) evaluative predicates. A fuller defense should include discussion of the objections that have been raised against the predictions of the postulation of such presuppositions of commonality (Baker 2012), (MacFarlane MS), as well as comparison with relatedly presuppositional non-indexical contextualist relativism (Egan 2010, 2012) and with proposals that appeal to implicatures rather than presuppositions triggered by expressions (Finlay 2005). This paper constitutes some first steps in that direction.
