[row][one_third]PEREDA BELTRAN, Noemi[/one_third][two_third]Dr. Noemí Pereda Beltran

Graduate in Psychology from the University of Barcelona (1999) and PhD in Psychology from the same university (2006).

Dr. Pereda is Professor of Victimology at the University of Barcelona and teaches courses for the Degree of Criminology, as well as in postgraduate studies and master’s degrees at different Spanish universities. She specializes in the field of developmental victimology or child and adolescent victimology, and she has stood out for her work in the field of child abuse and child sexual abuse.

Dr. Pereda has published numerous articles and book chapters on this area of study, extending her interest to the effects of terrorism on children, the psychological consequences of FGM, the adverse effects for children used as soldiers and the application of restorative justice in juvenile victims. She works closely with Dr. David Finkelhor’s team, a world expert in this area, and has done several research visits to the Crimes against Children Research Center at the University of New Hampshire.

Dr. Pereda collaborates as a temporary adviser with the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization in the study of child and adolescent violence in Spain and participates in training and advisory tasks in different Professional Associations, local governments and other governmental and non-governmental associations, such as Save the Children, Vicki Bernadet Foundation and RANA Foundation. She heads the Research Group on Child and Adolescent Victimization (GReVIA) since its creation in 2009, and is a member of the Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior (IR3C) since 2011.

Graduate and PhD in Psychology from the University of Barcelona in 2002 and 2009 respectively, currently serves as a professor in the Department of Methodology of Behavioral Sciences in the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Barcelona, lecturing in the degree of Psychology as well as in Masters’ degrees at the same university.

Her research focuses on quality metrics of psychological measurement instruments from a point of view both methodological and applied.More recently has been interested in the quantitative integration of results through meta-analytical procedures.

Also, her interest in this second issue has led to various researchs visits at other European universities, Freie Universität Berlin (Germany) and Maastricht University (Netherlands). Her contribution in these fields of knowledge has culminated with the presentation of numerous oral communications and posters in specialized conferences and the publication of two articles in scientific journals of international renown. Dr. Guilera belongs to GReVIA since 2009, coinciding with the start of the research team, and the Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior (IR3C) since 2011.

[row][one_third]Abad, Judit[/one_third][two_third]

Dr. Judit Abad Gil

Graduate and PhD in Psychology from the University of Barcelona in 1992 and 1998 respectively. Dr. Abad has taught at various universities (Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Abat Oliva CEU and UOC) and is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Prevention and Treatment of Violence at the University of Badajoz. Her research focuses on the assessment of the psychological symptoms in adolescents and their relationship with victimization experiences. Dr. Abad has participated in various conferences and scientific meetings, both national and international, and is a member of the Research Group on Child and Adolescent Victimization (GReVIA) since its creation in 2009.
