How to go from the airport to the Hotel Market

  • By taxi. Barcelonian taxis are black and yellow. The trip from the airport should cost 30-35 Euro plus a minor charge per bag. Taxi drivers do not expect tips but, if you wish, a small tip (1 to 1.5 Euro) is appropriate. Give the driver the following address:  Pasatge de Sant Antoni Abad, 10
  • By bus. The “Aerobus” runs between the Barcelona Airport and Catalunya Square (“Pl. Catalunya”). It costs  5.30 Euro (the ticket can only be bought on the bus) and the trip takes around 35 minutes. There is a bus every 6-15 minutes, depending on the time of the day. The bus (direction Airport – Pl. Catalunya) makes four stops and you should get off at Gran Via – Urgell (the second stop). The hotel is then within a five minute walking distance (see map).
  • By train/subway. This is probably the less practical option (particularly if you are arriving in terminal 1, since to take the train you will first need to take a shuttle bus to terminal 2) but also the cheapest one. Once you take the train to the center, get off at Sans Estacio or Passeig de Gracia. You will then need to change to the subway to get to your hotel, the closest station being Sant Antoni in line 2.

The workshop venue

The Workshop will take place in the Residència Investigadors del CSIC (c.Hospital 64, Barcelona; also in the map).

From the hotel Market to the workshop venue it’s a ten minute walk.

Restaurants

There are plenty of restaurants in the area. The map contains some information concerning this, including different vegetarian options.

Travel within Barcelona

If you are planning to use public transportation in Barcelona, you can for instance purchase (at any underground station in the city) a T-10  card for 9.25 Euro. This entitles any user (also, the T-10 is a multi personal ticket) to ten trips in the Barcelona metro or city buses.
