HERMES produces a lot of data a long of the life project, which some of them are GIS products. To represent these data and to allow an easy exchange of GIS data into HERMES, it is necessary to use a common symbology that it will be a great benefit for the end users, because it is more easy to understand that each different object is represented with one symbol that one symbol for one object.

So the HERMES GIS partners have been created an uniform symbology for all GIS data represented into HERMES, due to huge volume of HERMES data, the symbology will be updated several times during HERMES. Below this text you can jump to the symbology divided in several categories: Biology, Geology, Oceanography, Socio-Economical Data and finally Others, where the symbols represented can be downloaded as ArcGIS layers.
