I Jornadas de Historia Empresarial (I Workshop of Business History: Spain and Europe)
The Centre d´Estudis Antoni de Capmany d'Economia i Història Econòmica, at the Universitat de Barcelona, will hold a scientific workshop between 11 and 12 December 2008, to debate the latest contributions about business history in Spain and Europe. With this workshop the Centre wants to help improve the networking activity between its members and outstanding international researchers in the field. This is precisely one of the main general aims of the Centre Antoni de Capmany, which wants to organize periodical gatherings of an international scope, to favour knowledge exchange with a historical perspective about innovation, competitiveness, small and medium enterprises, districts, large corporations, family firms, and the creation of intangible assets among other relevant research issues.
This first workshop of business history encourages young researchers to present proposals of advanced research in progress on these varied themes. Their work will be discussed by relevant specialists in the field. The workshop will receive support from the members of the Department of Economic History and Economic Institutions of the University of Barcelona, the Revista de Historia Industrial, and the sponsorship of Foundation BBVA.
