The IPTi project was developed by researchers at the Barcelona Research Centre in International Health (CRESIB), a centre sponsored by the UB, the Catalan government, the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS). According to Pedro L. Alonso, professor at the UB Department of Public Health and main researcher and director of the IPTi’s office at the CRESIB, «the IPTi is an invaluable contribution to the efforts to fight malaria, and international policy-makers and heads of national Malaria Control Programsshould consider its immediate adoption and integration in the existing programs.»
