The UB has published a special issue of its magazine La Universitat in English in order to promote the University on a broader international stage. The magazine will be distributed among prominent visitors from abroad when they visit the UB and among participants at the European University Association’s Spring Conference which is being held in the Historic Building until 29 March. The magazine will also be used by members of the UB when travelling abroad as a means of introducing the University to a wider audience.

Among its contents readers will find an article entitled “Barcelona: university and city”, which examines the history of the UB and its ties with the city; a series of reflections on the building of the present-day European system of universities made by various personalities and published in previous issues of the UB magazine; and a report entitled “Barcelona behind the scenes”, which brings together the studies of various UB researchers on the city of Barcelona. Finally, the magazine presents the research work and teaching being carried out at the UB with a marked international outlook. It is expected that this English issue of “La Universitat” will become an annual publication.
