Dr. Mayka Sánchez 

Dr. Sánchez obtained her PhD at our laboratory in 2002 with the Thesis entitled "Hereditary hemochromatosis: study of the HFE gene and its mutations in the Spanish population". Mayka received the 2005 Social Council Award "Antoni Caparrós" of the University of Barcelona for the best thesis work that makes a significant contribution to the transfer of knowledge to society.

Dr. Lourdes Mengual

Dr. Mengual obtained her PhD at our laboratory in 2003 with the Thesis entitled "Male infertility: causes, genetic risk factors and molecular characterization of the spermatozoa".

Dr. Alberto Lleó

Dr. Lleó obtained his PhD at our laboratory in 2002 with the Thesis dealing with familial Alzheimer's disease and presenilin 1, 2 and APP genes.

Dr. Mario Ezquerra

Dr. Ezquerra obtained his PhD at our laboratory in 2000 with the Thesis entitled "Genetic risk factors associated to Alzheimer's disease in the Spanish population".

Dr. Pau Pastor

Dr. Pastor obtained his PhD at our laboratory in 2001 with the Thesis entitled "Analysis of the tau gene in Parkinson's disease and in frontotemporal dementia". 

Subsequently he was a Postdoct at the Department of Psychiatry, Washington University School of Medicine, Campus box 8134, 660 South Eclid Avenue, St Louis, MO 63110, USA, pastorp@icarus.wustl.edu. Dr. Esteban Muñoz

Dr. Lleó obtained his PhD at our laboratory in 2001 with the Thesis entitled "Genetic association studies and mutations in Parkinson's disease".

Dr. Ester Margarit

Dr. Margarit obtained her PhD at our laboratory in 1998 with the Thesis entitled "Y chromosome defects in sexual differentiation and identification of potential regulatory elements of the expression of the SRY gene".

Dr. José-Manuel Vidal-Taboada

Dr. Vidal-Taboada obtained his PhD at our laboratory in 2000 with the Thesis entitled "Physiscal map construction and identification and characterization of genes in the chromosome 21 region associated to Down syndrome".

Dr. de Yebra obtained her PhD at our laboratory in 1995 with the Thesis entitled "Anomalies in the content of nucleoproteins in spermatic cells. Relation with the infertility in man".
