Session I served to present and discuss the theoretical basis of the Include-Ed project, along with the results of the first project. Ramón Flecha contributed with an analysis of the Learning Communities project sucess, which was related to the scientific-based approach of the project, in accordance with the Includ-ed theoretical basis. Mikko Ojala focused on the inclusionary measures of the Finnish educational system, which has lead this country to great educational success in terms of performance and equity. The session ended by the presentation of the Basque Government’s plan involving the extension of the Learning communities project to the whole of the region, based on the scientific findings of the Includ-Ed project and their implications.
