The Ministerial Order of 11 May 2006 sets out the general guidelines for establishing and implementing aptitude tests, which must be completed by prospective students prior to the homologation of any studies they may have obtained outside Spain.
-
The criteria by which homologation of any higher education qualifications obtained outside Spain is subject to the passing of an aptitude test should be designed to address the general or specific nature of a prospective students prior education and any essential study areas that would justify the requirement of proof.
-
The contents of the test, in a general sense, must cover all core subject matter relevant to the Nursing curriculum at the University of Barcelona.
-
Where an aptitude test of a more specific nature is required its contents should include all subject matter detailed by the Ministry of Education’s ruling in each case.
-
Aptitude tests are held at least twice a year. The dates normally coincide with those for regular and additional calls for enrolment at the University. These dates are announced at least thirty calendar days in advance.
-
The examination panel consists of five university teaching staff members from departments related to the subject matter being tested.
-
Following the completion of an aptitude test a nominal list of students that have passed will be made available.
-
Students who wish to lodge complaints may do so within the deadlines set by the examination panel.
-
In accordance with regulations set by the Ministry Education on 27 December 2002, which dictate instructions on specific aspects of aptitude testing prior to the homologation of foreign higher education qualifications, prospective students must submit a copy of the results notice they receive from the Secretary General of Qualifications, Validation and Recognition in order to complete enrolment. While the Office of Qualifications, Validation and Recognition will initiate no direct communication with the University, the University may contact them in case of any doubt about the authenticity of any results provided by a prospective student or any aspect related to an aptitude test.
