52/5000 Orís, the young Vulture found exhausted and now recovered

The Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus) is a species considered endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and threatened by the impact of natural habitat loss, accidents with electric tracking and interactions with humans. A young vulture, found exhausted in Ripollès, is the protagonist of a new follow-up action of the Biology Conservation Team of the Faculty of Biology and the Biodiversity Research Institute of the University of Barcelona (IRBio ), directed by Professor Joan Real, from the Department of Evolutionary Biology, Ecology and Environmental Sciences.

Since 1980, the Conservation Biology Team of the UB is a reference group in the search for the biology and ecology of many species of specially threatened raptors, and in providing solutions to improve- Its conservation.
