The Paranimph holds the graduation ceremony for the first class of the bachelor degree on Marine Sciences

The Paranimph of the Historical Building of the UB held, on Friday, October 11, the graduation ceremony for the first class of the degree on Marine Sciences, a degree taught at the University of Barcelona since the academic year 2015/2016.



These studies, affiliated at the Faculty of Earth Sciences, is unfolded in collaboration with the faculties of Biology, Pharmacy and Food Sciences, Physics, Law and Economics and Business of the UB, with the participation of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). Forty students have graduated in this first year graduation, 57 % of them being women.



Participants in the graduation ceremony, presided by the Rector of the UB, Joan Elias, were Maria Teresa Calvet, acting dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences; Rosina Gironès, dean of the Faculty of Biology; Miquel Canals, director of the Department of Earth and Ocean Dynamics of the UB, first coordinator of the degree and patron of the ceremony; Galderic Lastras, lecturer of the Faculty of Earth Sciences, and the lecturers Creu Palacín and Javier Romero, of the Faculty of Biology and the Biodiversity Research Institute (IRBio) of the University of Barcelona. Other participants were Maria Neus Carbó, lecturer at the Faculty of Biology and secretary of the Faculty, Doctoral Studies and Equality, and students (noms participants?) representing the graduates.
