Viruses threatening Europe

Ebola and Zika have shown that epidemics of emerging pathogens are not only a concern in tropical countries, and the problem may be increasing.
Predemics, is a European project that focuses on the influenza virus, hepatitis E, flavivirus (such as Zika, dengue, WNV or Japanese Encephalitis) and lyssavirus (rabies virus). "Each of them has a different risk, although all of them are emerging and can affect many people," says biologist at the University of Barcelona and the IRBio Jordi Serra-Cobo.
