La Mercè! the city celebrates!
Piromusical La Mercè 2004 VII International Fireworks Festival of Barcelona

Over 141 days the city has played host to the Forum Barcelona 2004, a great world gathering devoted to dialogue on cultural diversity, sustainability and peace. The time comes for its closing ceremony. This spectacle, a mixture of music and fire, is a homage to the dialogue between peoples and the relationship of humanity with the planet.

Other exhibitions in the city
The Fundació Antoni Tàpies exhibits part of its permanent collection exhibiting "Col·lecció", in which a series of works from the depths of the museum is on show, covering all the artistically creative periods of this Catalan painter. There are drawings and portraits from the forties, "matèriques" from the fifties and sixties, objects from the seventies, varnish and sculpture from the eighties and paintings from the nineties. A trilogy of previously unseen drawings, created between 1956 and 1985, are also outstanding. The dedicated to modern art.
