Research and development contractsMARS maintains contacts, whether only of contribution or with contracts, with many enterprises of the sector, so those implied in the provision of drinking water (Sociedad General de Aguas de Barcelona - Agbar, Consorcio Ter-Llobregat, Consorcio Aguas de Bilbao), as those in the water purification (Consorcio de la Costa Brava, EMSSA), or those enterprises focused on the development of new technologies (Veolia, Tecma, etc), or with the administration (Health) or public agencies (Agència Catalana de l’Aigua). MARS’s objective is to maintain (some contributions already have more than 20 years), and if is possible to expand these contributions, with a realistic vision attending to the possibilities of organization and to the limitations of the available physical space where develop the tasks of researcher and technological transference of our group. Our offer of Technological Services.• Detection of animal virus in water, sediments and food samples. Conventional methods based on cell line culture and new methods based on molecular techniques. • Detection of faecal origin bacteria in water, sediments and food samples. Conventional methods based on cultivation in bacteriological media (selective and non-selective) and molecular methods (primers, probes and antibodies). • Detection of Cryptosporidium and Giardia by inmunofluorescence and quantification by citometry in solid phase, in water, sludge and sediment samples. • Evaluation of the efficacy of water processing in the elimination of different groups of microorganisms (bacteria, parasitic and virus). • Determination of the presence of Legionella in water systems. • Evaluation of the biocide activity of substances according to the regulation in force. • Cell line culture. |
