ARMENGOL:Editor of the Literary and Cultural Studies section of the journal Men and Masculinities Received his PhD in English Philology at the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis Gendering Men: Theorizing Masculinities in American Culture and Literature (2006). His work on American literary representations of masculinities has been published in prestigious academic magazines such as Signs, Men and Masculinities, The Hemingway Review and Journal of Men’s Studies. His most recent books Debating Masculinity (2009), Richard Ford and the Fiction of Masculinities (2010 recipient of the “Premio de Investigación Literaria” granted by AEDEAN), Men in Color: Racialized Masculinities in U.S. Literature and Cinema (2011), Queering Iberia: Iberian Masculinities at the Margins (2012) and Embodying Masculinities: Towards a History of the Male Body in U.S. Culture and Literature. He is one of the editors in Spain of the magazine Men and Masculinities (Sage Publications) and co-editor of the collection “Masculinity Studies” of the publishing house Peter Lang. He is currently working as tenured lecturer of American Literature and Gender Studies at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha,  where he is working on a new book on masculinities in the African-American novel.
