INFORMATION ON THE LEGALIZATION AND ATTESTING OF DEGREE CERTIFICATES AND
ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS FOR INTERNATIONAL
STUDENTS
-
One attested photocopy of the certificate recording the studies that the
applicant has completed and that are required to start the master’s degree
course.
- One attested photocopy
of the applicant’s academic transcript or personal academic certificate.
For students with
documents issued in EU countries: these documents need not be legalized, but they have to be translated
from their original language to Spanish by a sworn translator in compliance
with the legislation set down by the Spanish government. It is not necessary to
translate documents originally in English.
For students with
documents issued in non-EU countries: these documents must be legalized through
diplomatic channels. Remember that the legalization must be done for original
documents. If these are not in Spanish or English, they must be translated from
their original language to one of these two by a sworn translator. For further
details, consult the UB information on Legalization
(in Catalan) or the webpage of the Spanish government’s Ministry
of Education (in Spanish).
At the moment of admission,
all prospective applicants must also obtain official authorization to access
master’s degree studies from the University
of Barcelona. The fees
payable for this authorization are regulated by the Catalan government’s Decree
on Fees (published annually).
Once the papers have been
legalized, the applicant must send the Faculty photocopies of the original
translations which have been officially attested and stamped by the Spanish
embassy or consulate in the applicant's country of origin. If the applicant
is a Spanish resident, however, this procedure can be completed by any official
Spanish authority, including the Head Secretary at our office. To officially
attest any document, both the original and a photocopy must be presented.
NOTE THAT DEFINITIVE ADMISSION CANNOT BE GRANTED TO
APPLICANTS WHOSE PAPERS ARE PRESENTED EITHER AS SIMPLE, NON-ATTESTED
PHOTOCOPIES OR AS SCANNED, ELECTRONIC FILES.
FEES
The fees for master’s degree
studies in the Official Postgraduate Program are regulated by the Catalan

2011-2012, the enrolment fee will be of 31.42€ per credit and the fee for
official authorization to access master’s studies will be of 207.20 €
PAYING FROM ABROAD

who are residents in China
or Venezuela cannot use this
