Master in Fundamental and Applied Ecology
Scientific and professional relevance

Ecology is a highly important subject in a number of professional areas, and fields as diverse as biology, economics, law, geography and politics make use of ecological information in work on environmental issues such as the protection of natural systems, pollution, global warming and conservation. It is therefore vital to train experts in ecology by providing fundamental and applied cross-disciplinary education to future professionals and scientists.

Career opportunities

Students of this master's degree program will acquire the knowledge to carry out professional and research activities in the field of ecology, relating to issues such as the protection, conservation and management of natural systems, and the control of pollution. Successful graduates will possess the knowledge and skills required to work in private companies (e.g. consultancies, environment agencies, etc.), local and national public administrations, NGOs and other organizations requiring experts in ecological matters. In the research field, graduates will be equipped to work with universities, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and other scientific bodies and institutions.
