Welcome

The inter-university master’s degree in Economic History (University of Barcelona, Autonomous University of Barcelona, University of Zaragoza) is a research-oriented program designed to produce researchers capable of examining, understanding and solving problems related to the economic development of societies by analysing important events and trends in economic history. The program also aims to provide students with the necessary skills to generate knowledge in the areas of economic history and long-term economic development.

Students will acquire in-depth knowledge of advanced theoretical and empirical techniques in economic analysis and the historical perspective required to examine, analyse and solve problems related to the economic development of societies.

Students who successfully complete this master’s degree will be well equipped to pursue careers in a number of areas including higher education teaching, research, economic consulting to government bodies, economic cooperation work carried out by NGOs, public and private institutions, foundations and survey providers.

The usual language of teaching activities of the Master is Spanish. Futhermore, a good level of English to follow correctly the Master activities is required.

The teaching activities take place alternately in the Faculties of Economics and Business at the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The participation of three universities involved in the Master program is regulated by an official agreement signed on January 14, 2009.
