Master in Clinical Research - Respiratory Medicine Track |
Respiratory Medicine (RESPMED) is an international and interuniversity Master's degree organised jointly by the University of Barcelona and the Pompeu Fabra University. Our Master counts with the participation of Ciberes, the research network in respiratory diseases.
It targets in the first place professionals and students from the fields of Health Sciences such as doctors, biologists, nurses or physiotherapists interested in gaining further knowledge and skills for academic and multidisciplinary research in the field of respiratory medicine and respiratory care.
Since 2010-2011 and in order to promote the participation of students that do not live in Barcelona, the pedagogical approach is based on eLearning and enhanced by the Virtual campus of the University of Barcelona. Nonetheless, 4 "on campus" seminars of two days each will be held in Barcelona between October 2012 and May 2013.
Since 2011-12, the Respiratory Medicine Master has been cooperating with the European Master BioHealth Computing Erasmus Mundus that is implemented jointly with the University of Grenoble (FR), Maastricht (NL) and Torino (IT). Upon completion of the Respiratory Medicine Master sudents can enrol to the "Bio Health Computing" Erasmus Mundus Master and at a further stage to an Erasmus Mundus PhD.
As from the academic year 2012-13, The Master of Respiratory Medicine will be called MASTER IN CLINICAL RESEARCH - RESPIRATORY MEDICINE TRACK. This will be a 60 ECTS Master instead of a 90 ECTS Master in the 5 previous courses. Students who enrolled in previous courses will be able to finish the Masters 90 ECTS or migrate to a Master of 60 credits according to their preferences. However, new students may now only pursue a Master of 60 ECTS.
