Higher education qualifications required

In keeping with the cross-disciplinary nature of this master’s degree and the range of employment opportunities available to successful graduates, the program is open to applicants with a wide variety of previous studies, and all work will be carried out in mixed, cross-disciplinary teams. The degree is particularly suitable for those in possession of bachelor’s degrees or university diplomas in design (in any of its specialised areas), fine arts, audiovisual communication, information sciences, and architecture, and holders of bachelor’s degrees in traditional branches of philosophy and the arts.

 

Recommended applicant profiles

This master’s degree is addressed principally to two types of applicants:

  • Graduates of the former escoles d’arts i oficis (state-run higher education institutions offering academic and vocational training) in possession of diplomas or degrees with study loads equivalent to 180 ECTS credits.

  • Students in possession of a bachelor’s degree in any branch of the humanities or other disciplines referred to above, equivalent to 240 ECTS credits.

Given the dual-pathway structure of the degree (academic or professional), applicants with the following general profiles will be considered:

  • Holders of university diplomas working in graphic communication and having an extensive, practical understanding of the field.

  • Holders of bachelor’s degrees who require specialised training in typography to support their professional development.

In summary, this master’s degree is suitable for the following types of applications:

  • Students in possession of a vocational undergraduate degree with a study load equivalent to 180 ECTS credits who wish to acquire specialised professional training and gain the skills required for access to subsequent continuous training at postgraduate level.

  • Students in possession of a vocational undergraduate degree with a study load equivalent to 180 ECTS credits who wish to acquire the knowledge to complete their general academic and specific disciplinary training.

  • Students in possession of an undergraduate degree with a study load equivalent to ECTS credits who wish to acquire a professional specialisation and gain the skills required for access to subsequent specialised professional training at postgraduate level.

  • Students in possession of a university degree with a total study load equivalent to 240 ECTS credits who wish to gain specialised professional training and gain the skills required for access to subsequent training in a super-specialised professional field.

  • Students in possession of a university degree with a total study load equivalent to 240 ECTS credits who wish to continue their academic training in a more specialised environment.
