Following the guidelines set out by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), Mathematics degree offerings are now being divided into bachelor’s degrees, in the EHEA’s first cycle, and postgraduate studies, in its second and third cycles:
- The new EHEA bachelor’s degree is replacing the old Spanish first degrees (which also used the terms ‘first cycle’ and ‘second cycle’, but which were all undergraduate courses).
- The master’s degree and the doctoral degree will now officially constitute the second and third cycle of university studies respectively, and together form what is called the official postgraduate program or POP.
The official postgraduate program at the Faculty of Mathematics comprises the following degree courses:
- the master’s degree Advanced and Professional Mathematics;
- the master’s degree Artificial Intelligence, offered jointly with Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Rovira i Virgili University (URV);
- the doctoral degree Mathematics.
Members of Mathematics teaching staff also teach in the following degree courses:
- the master’s degree Pure and Applied Logic;
- the master’s degree History of Science: Science, History and Society.
- the master’s degree in Statistics and Operations Research
- the master’s degree in Teacher Training in Obligatory Secondary and Upper Secondary School Education, Vocational Training and Languages
