Game theory, operations research and optimization Teoria de jocs, investigació operativa i optimització
Introduction
The research group in Game Theory, Operations Research and Optimization is formed by researchers of different catalan universities (Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona and Universitat de Lleida), but mostly from the Department of Economic, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics of the University of Barcelona. The quality of their research is reflected in their publications in well known international journals such as Games and Economic Behavior, Mathematical Programming, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control or Insurance: Mathematics and Economics.
The group is interested on all relationships between mathematics and economics, both theoretical and applied. It has a consolidated trajectory in three closely related fields: game theory (particularly the analysis of cooperation, of bilateral and multilateral assignment markets and matching problems), optimization and convex analysis (including dynamic optimization and differential games) and actuarial sciences (solvency and risk theory). In this way, many different decision-making situations are covered, both static and dynamic situations, with either one agent or multiple agents that may cooperate or be in competition.
