The Consolidated Research Group "MINERALOGIA APLICADA, GEOQUÍMICA i HIDROGEOLOGIA – MAGH" (2021-SGR-00308) is made up of research and technical staff from five groups from three different institutions: 1) Institute of Environmental Diagnosis and Water Studies (IDAEA) of the CSIC, which integrates a group with experts in reactive transport, fluid geochemistry, water-rock interaction and mineral alteration (IDAEA-MINE), and a group with experts in hydrogeology, underground water modelling, urban hydrogeology, low enthalpy geothermal energy and emerging contaminants, among others (IDAEA-HIDRO)2) University of Barcelona (UB), which integrates the coordinating group, expert in isotopic geochemistry, geochemical modeling, applied mineralogy, and water remediation processes (UB-MAiMA), and a group expert in microbiology (UB-MICRO); and 3) Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), with experts in geochemical modeling applied to mineral deposits and paleofluids (UAB-ORE).

The group covers 8 research lines, which require an interdisciplinary approach, in which the expertise of each subgroup has to be integrated to fulfill the common planned objectives.

MAGH’s objectives focus not only on research, but also on technology transfer and internationalization.
