The conference dinner dinner will take place on Thursday, 20.30 h., at QU QU Restaurant (http://www.ququrestaurant.com/). It is located right at the beginning of Passeig de Gràcia, one of the main shopping streets of Barcelona (The address is Passeig de Gràcia, 24. Click here to see the restaurant location in a map).
There are four options in the menu:
We need to know in advance the attendees’ food preference. So if you will attend the conference dinner and you have not informed us about your own preference yet, please, do it as soon as possible (you can write an email to 2016msseven@gmail.com)
Note that options 1 and 2 cost 35 euros while options 3 and 4 cost 30 euros. The corresponding amounts must be payed in cash at the registration desk at the conference venue.

Registration to MS7 will close next Friday 13th. Although registration is free, it is mandatory. So, if you plan to attend the conference and you have not registered yet, please, do it before Friday.

The Models and Simulations 7 conference (MS7) will take place in Barcelona, May 18th-20th, 2016, co-organized by the University of Barcelona and the UNED (Madrid).
The Models and Simulations conference series is devoted to exploring philosophical issues arising from the construction and use of models and computer simulations in the natural and social sciences. Previous meetings took place in Paris, Tilburg, Charlottesville, Toronto, Helsinki and Notre Dame.

Call for Contributed Papers
Contributing papers are invited from both philosophers and practicing scientists. Sample topics include (but are not limited to):
– Models and simulations, their construction and their use in: prediction; heuristics; theorizing; experimentation; confirmation
– Scientific representation; scientific explanation; scientific reasoning
– The nature of: abstraction; approximation; idealization
– Desiderata (simplicity, unifying power, robustness, …) for modeling and simulating
– Their use and functions: across disciplinary boundaries; in designing and applying technologies; in public policy setting.
Contributed papers sessions will last 45 minutes: 30 minutes presentation and 15 minutes discussion.
Please submit a short abstract of 100 words and an extended PDF abstract of 600-700 words to:
