The neuropsychology group was formally constituted in 1994 after receiving the acknowledgement from the University of Barcelona. In 1995 the Generalitat de Catalunya recognized its nature of consolidated research group, recognition which has been renewed in all the next resolutions.
The group is interdisciplinary and it is formed by psychologists, psychiatrists, radiologists and biologists, essentially professors of the University of Barcelona. Part of the group lies within the Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS),
in the area of Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience. Research activity focuses in the study of the relation between lesions and dysfunctions of brain structures and their corresponding cognitive and behavioural alterations. The most used technique to carry out these investigations is Magnetic Resonance, in its structural and functional applications.
