Drawing up and negotiation of the Agreement between the University of Barcelona, the WTO and the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona to constitute the first WTO Chaire of the world with the involvement of the WTO itself. The Chaire's main activities will be in and for Latin America. The Agreement was formally signed the 5th of October 2001, during the Workshop on "The regulatory framework of Globalisation" organised by the Observatory of Globalisation and financed by the European Commission (see below).

Drawing up of the proposal to create a Master in International Economic Relations of the University of Barcelona to be developed together with FLACSO-Buenos Aires in Buenos Aires and financed by the Department of Presidency of the Regional Government of Catalonia.
The drawing up and negotiation of the specific agreements took place from the month of July to November of 2001. The Joint Master will begin in April 2002.


Collaboration in the International Research on technical standards, financed by the Columbia University (New York) and led by Walter Mattli. The other European institutions taking part in this project are specialised centres of the Oxford University (United Kingdom), and Lund (Sweden) and the Max Planck Institute of Germany.
This research will be conducted from July to December of 2001.
