Objectives
The Office of European Convergence is part of the office of the Vice-Rector for Teaching and European Convergence. Its fundamental mission is to promote and sponsor activities and initiatives that serve to adapt the University of Barcelona’s educational offering to the requirements of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). It also plays an advisory role concerning the UB’s involvement in the construction of the EHEA.
Functions
- Promoting, coordinating, monitoring and providing advice on EHEA implementation.
- Sponsoring projects and experiences in the area of education innovation and conducting research and analysis with respect to the transformation of educational methodologies.
- Supporting the various programs and plans of UB faculties and schools aimed at advancing the process of European convergence.
- Preparing guidebooks on key aspects of EHEA implementation.
- Compiling information on the bachelor’s degrees offered by other universities and on the implementation process followed in the various bachelor’s degree programs at the UB.
- Providing a documentation and support service to the faculties, schools and departments of the UB.
- Preparing and coordinating information and documentation generated on the implementation of degrees arising from the new structure of the university’s offering and distributing information and documents to teaching and research staff, administrative and services staff and the student body.
- Managing and coordinating UB participation in projects and applications for funding submitted to government bodies in the area of EHEA adaptation.
