CLARIN, the European research infrastructure consortium for language resources constitutes one of the drivers for Open Science within the European ecosystem of e-infrastructures for scholars in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Its main goal is to make digital language resources and tools accessible and interoperable across borders and disciplines, and is working hard since the last ten years to make it happen. CLARIN organization as a federated network of data- and service-providing centers allows institutions to maintain a large degree of freedom while, at the same time, the adoption of common protocols and strategies guarantees uniformity and accessibility to data and services. In this presentation we will see how all this is happening: how CLARIN complies with the FAIR data principles, how it contributes to Open Science, what are its typical data and tools. We will also introduce CLARIN-IT, the Italian consortium, which is fully committed to implementing and facilitating the uptake of the CLARIN common protocols and strategies, and of the FAIR data principles. We will see connections with Linked Open Data through examples by the CNR Language Resource and Infrastructures group at ILC4CLARIN, which is creating interlinked lexical resources to the cloud.
