  • 1991 - 1995. Contract at the Department of Geography, University of Düsseldorf.
  • 1995. University Degree in Geography (Magister Artium), Geology and Economic History at the University of Düsseldorf (Germany) and Cologne (Germany)
  • 1995. Postgraduate contract at the Department of Geography at the University of Düsseldorf (Germany). Research and fieldwork in Patagonia (Argentina) and south-western USA.
  • 1995 - 2000. CIRIT pre-doc research grant (Department of Science and Technology of Catalonia) at the Department of Physical and Regional Geography. Research stay at the Univesity of California Berkeley, University of California Davis, Universität Marburg, Universidad Bernardo O'Higgins (Santiago de Chile)
  • 2000. Doctoral Degree and Doctor Europaeus at the University of Barcelona. PhD thesis: "Quaternary Evolution of the Vera and eastern Sorbas basin (SE-Iberian Peninsula). A reconstruction of paleoclimatic fluctuations from morphological and pedological studies"

  • Quaternary Geomorphology of Arid Regions, Holocene River Environment and Human Interaction, Paleopedogy, Paleo-geoecology, Glacial Geomorphology, Periglacial Processes.

  • Desert lowlands of southeastern Spain, Swiss Alps, Sierra Nevada (Spain), eastern Pyrenees and northeastern Spain.
