master
| The official master’s
degree Citizenship and Values Education offers
both professional and research pathways.
Professional pathway
The student choosing this pathway
shall be required to study the following:
- the four course units in the
module Theoretical Principles (20 credits);
- the two course units of the
module Research placement, in which the student
will complete 120 hours of practical training and
an end-of-degree assignment (20 credits);
- optional course units carrying
a total of 20 credits chosen from the module Areas
of specialist study and research, which comprises
the four areas Sources of knowledge, Areas of intervention,
Specialist themes and Research methodology (students
are recommended to study at least two course units
from the first three areas).
Research pathway
The student choosing this pathway
shall be required to study the following:
- the four course units in the
module Theoretical Principles (20 credits);
- the two course units of the
module Research placement, in which the student
will complete a research project during the course
of the degree and an end-of-degree assignment (20
credits);
- optional course units carrying
a total of 20 credits chosen from the module Areas
of specialist study and research:
- 5 credits in course units chosen from the
area Research methodology;
- 15 credits in course units chosen from the
areas Sources of knowledge, Areas of intervention,
and Specialist themes (students are recommended
to study two course units from each of these
areas).
Upon successful completion of the
60 credits comprising the master’s degree, the
student will be eligible for doctoral studies. The
Faculty of Teacher Training offers the doctoral program
Education and Society.
