The PERSP project invites applications for one full-time post-doctoral research position. Research proposals should be on topics that fall within the remit defined by PERSP's overall research objectives.

The position is funded for one year

Starting date: preferably 01 October 2014, but extendable to 01 January 2015.

The salary is € 34.000 p.a. (before tax).

The PERSP project invites applications for 1 pre-doctoral research position.

Deadline for applications: April 15, 2012.

The successful candidate will be expected to enroll in the Master Program in Analytic Philosophy and to eventually apply for entry into one of the associated PhD programs, to elaborate a PhD dissertation contributing to some of the work-packages into which the project is divided. The candidate will be assigned to one of the research groups developing the project, depending on her/his interests, and employed by the University of Barcelona under one-year contract in the first place. The contract can be renewed for a second year, if the candidate is accepted into one of the associated PhD programs and upon satisfactory performance. The candidate will then have the support of the program to get one of the PhD grants offered by different public Spanish institutions, which typically provide 4 years of funding.

The salary amounts to € 18.000 p.a. (before tax).

The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)*** in philosophy or cognate disciplines, have good communication skills, and have a proven proficiency in both spoken and written English. The candidate should meet the requirements for enrolling in the Master Program in Analytic Philosophy.

1 post-doctoral position:

The PERSP project invites applications for 1 full-time post-doctoral research position in legal or political philosophy, but preferably both.

The position is based in the Philosophy of Law group at Pompeu Fabra University, but the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to its collaborative activities with the other groups of the PERSP network, and especially with the Philosophy of Law group at the University of Girona. These activities include participating in seminars and conferences and organizing an annual workshop. The successful candidate will also have a promising publication record in legal or political philosophy, but preferably both, and a research project likely to yield high quality publications in international journals. An interest in the relevance of the fact of disagreement for philosophical disputes about authority, democracy and distributive justice would also be an advantage. This is a research position but the successful candidate will have the option to engage in some teaching at graduate level.

The position is funded for one to three years starting 01 October 2011.

The salary is € 34.000 p.a. (before tax).

The candidate must have a completed Ph.D., good communication and managing skills, and a strong qualification in legal or political philosophy, but preferably both. The main language of communication is English.
