Practical information

Workshop venue – how to get there

The venue of the workshop is the Residència d'Investigadors, c/Hospital 64, Barcelona.

How to go from the airport to the Residència d'Investigadors

By taxi. Barcelonian taxis are black and yellow. The trip from the airport should cost 30-35 Euros plus a minor charge per bag. Taxi drivers do not expect tips but, if you wish, a small tip (1 to 1.5 Euro) is appropriate. Give the driver the following address:  Hospital, 64

By bus. The "Aerobus" runs between the Barcelona Airport and Catalunya Square ("Pl. Catalunya"). It costs  5.90 Euros (the ticket can only be bought on the bus) and the trip takes around 35 minutes. There is a bus every 6-15 minutes, depending on the time of the day. The bus (direction Airport - Pl. Catalunya) makes four stops and you should get off at the last one, Plaça Catalunya. The hotel is then within a ten or fifteen minute walking distance (see map).

How to go from the train station 'Sants Stació' to the Residència d'Investigadors

By taxi. The trip from the train station Estació de Sants should cost about 10-15 Euros (it depends on the traffic). Give the taxi driver the following address:  Hospital, 64.

By train. Once you get off at Sants Estacio, you can take another train to Plaça Catalunya (R3, R4 or R1 line), it takes around 5 minutes to arrive to Plaça Catalunya.

By subway. Another option is: once you are in the train station Sants Estació, change to the subway, line 3 (the green one - direction 'Trinitat Nova'), to the station Liceu (see map).

There are lots of places to eat around the Residència. Here you have a list with some suggestions.

Travel within Barcelona

If you are planning to use public transportation in Barcelona, you can for instance purchase (at any underground station in the city) a T-10  card for 9.75 Euro. This entitles any user (also, the T-10 is a multi personal ticket) to ten trips in the Barcelona metro or city buses.
