Doctoral thesis

During the training period, doctoral candidates carry out research that will culminate in the completion and defence of a doctoral thesis.

During the first academic year, under the guidance of the adviser assigned by the Academic Committee, candidates choose a topic for their thesis. During the same year, the Academic Committee assigns a thesis supervisor, who may also be the candidate’s adviser, and candidates present a research plan that must be approved by the Academic Committee.

The next two academic years, under the guidance of their adviser and supervisor, doctoral candidates complete the research training and prepare the doctoral thesis. At the end of each academic year, candidates will submit a report detailing the progress of their research that must be approved by the Academic Committee.

At the end of the training period, candidates will present their thesis, which will have been reviewed and approved in advance by the supervisor, to the Academic Committee. If the Committee approves, it will appoint an examining board for the candidate’s public defence of the thesis.
