Molecular mechanisms of ionotropic glutamate receptors
Our research is focused on the molecular mechanisms that underlie neurotransmitter receptor activation. We are interested mainly in AMPA-type glutamate receptors, which drive most of the fast excitatory neurotransmission in the brain. These ionotropic receptors are important in plasticity mechanisms as well as in several conditions in the nervous system.
