In 1972, the first exchange agreement was drawn up between the University of Illinois and the UB. The University of California then joined the agreement in 1975. Two types of exchanges were established in these agreements: one for students and the other for teaching staff.
- A specific number of degree students from the Universities of California and Illinois can enrol for one academic year in first and second stage subjects of UB llicenciatura degrees. They may also enrol for the Catalan language and culture seminars that are organized exclusively for them by the Faculty of Philology.
- The agreement with the University of Illinois includes the exchange of lectors every academic year. A UB graduate will join the University of Illinois as a part-time lector to teach in the Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, and may also enrol for other subjects in which that he/she is interested. Likewise, an Illinois graduate with a master’s degree will join the UB Department of English and German as a visiting lecturer.
The corresponding calls for applications are made in early winter (around November) and announced in the local press, on notice boards at the program’s offices in the Faculty of Philology and on the Faculty webpage. For further information, write to email@example.com or phone (+34) 934 035 588.
