Geology and Society Our faculty's web portal Geology and Society is intended both to provide an indication of the work being done by the faculty and other institutions to promote activities related to our field, and to reinforce the importance in our society of higher educational studies in geology. The portal brings together geology-related items of general current interest, including newspaper articles, television and radio interviews, and reports on subjects as diverse as current geological hazards, natural phenomena and dinosaurs. One of its features is a specially designed section for secondary school readers.

The portal also posts information on some of the activities directed by teachers in university extension courses and includes details on forthcoming conferences, exhibitions and workshops addressed to secondary school teachers. For students who have completed their geology studies there are links to institutions and associations in the field and to geology fairs and events of different kinds.

The portal also posts information on geological and paleontological exhibitions and museums, as well as the workshops and activities offered by these centres.
