PhD in Economics by the UB David Castells-Quintana wins José Manuel Blecua Prize
David Castells-Quintana, PhD in Economics by the Universidad de Barcelona, has been awarded the José Manuel Blecua prize by the university’s Board of Trustees. The award recognizes the best article published in a leading scientific journal resulting from a PhD thesis defended at the University of Barcelona in the field of Humanities and Social Sciecnes. Castells-Quintana’s Malthus living in slum: Urban concentration, infraestructure and economic growth was published in the Journal of Urban Economics. The award ceremony will take place on November 24th at the Aula Magna of the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona. Castells-Quintana has also recently been awarded the UB Extraordinary Doctoral Prize 2015/2016 for his thesis Three Empirical Essays on Concentration of Resources and Economic Growth.
