We strongly advise international students to have this documentation ready well in advance.

1. Bachelor’s degree certificate*
2. Bachelor’s official transcript of academic records and MSc’s official transcript of academic records for the admission in the PhD*. This document must include the following information: the period of study in academic courses, the subjects, the hours or credits per subject, the grades awarded in each subject and the evaluation system (the university must state in this document or in an attached certificate the grading system).
3. Copy of your passport or national ID card

Students in possession of academic documents issued outside Spain need to complete the following steps (in order):

STEP 1. Legalisation.
STEP 2. Translation.
STEP 3. Certified copies.

Documents can only be accepted if they are in Catalan, Spanish or English.

* Please note that the documents you submit must be certified copies, meaning that they must bear an endorsement or certification that they are true copies of the originals. Certified copies can be obtained from any office of the UB’s General Registry. If you bring the original document (legalised and translated) and a simple copy (black and white copy) to our office, we can certify it for you.

Documents must be submitted to the Oficina de Màsters i Doctorat (OMD), either by postal mail or in person to:

In order to hand in the documentation in person, please note that the OMD Office is open from 10:00h to 13:30h and from 16:00h to 19:00h.

EQUIVALENCE FEE PAYMENT

Students in possession of academic documents issued outside Spain will be required to pay the equivalence fee (€218.15), which certifies that the student’s international degree qualifications is equivalent to the Spanish degree qualification entitling the student to be admitted to the master’s degree course. This is updated each academic year in the Catalan government’s Decree on Fees. An invoice and additional instructions for payment will be sent as soon as all the documents are received.
