The University of Barcelona, through the Pharmacy Faculty, has set up on 1996 the Service of Development of Medicines (SDM), to update its teaching and research, and, as befits the times we live in, to make possible the necessary collaboration between the university and the pharmaceutical industry.

The SDM supplies technical, scientific and research services, to develop medical devices and medicines for both human and animal use. The services offered by the SDM (Drug Products Development Service), are aimed at the pharmaceutical business sector and kindred areas (veterinary medicine, cosmetics, phytotherapy, health products, drug raw materials, etc.).
