The University of Tartu is the national university of Estonia. For the first time the University of Tartu has been ranked among the top five per cent of world’s leading universities in the reputable Times Higher Education – QS World University Rankings in 2009. UT produces more than 600 research articles per year that are published in high-level international (ISI) journals (TÜ aastaraamat, 2007). Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University of Tartu, is the leading school in economics and business administration in Estonia. According to the data from the Web of Science, Estonian economics and business scholars have published 127 articles in indexed journals within the last ten years (as of 1 November 2008) and these articles have been cited 192 times.  Scholars from the University of Tartu have contributed respectively 45 per cent. The Faculty has considerable experience in conducting joint research projects relevant to this project proposal including Migrant Diversity and Regional Disparity in Europe (Norface; 496 MD-RDE), ‘Technological knowledge transfer partnership between the University of Tartu (Estonia) and Zernike Group (Netherlands)’ (6th FP); ‘EU Integration and the Prospects for Catch-Up Development in CEECs – The Determinants of the Productivity Gap’ (5th FP), ‘The Eastward Enlargement of the Eurozone- EZONEPLUS’  (5Th FP), ‘Baltic Sea Area Studies – Northern Dimension of Europe’ (6th FP), ‘‘Impact of foreign direct investment on the international competitiveness of CEEC manufacturing and EU enlargement’, ‘EU Integration Driven Investment Networking: Outward Foreign Direct Investment of Candidate Countries’ (PHARE-ACE project), Central and Eastern Europe in EU Enterprises Strategy of Industrial Restructuring and Relocation (European Trade Union Confederation project with the EU Commission)
