Paleontology of Marine Environments

Currently working on:

  • Studies of growth patterns in current and fossil foraminifers and the relationship with environmental factors (in collaboration with the University of Vienna).
  • Biostratigraphy and palaeoecology of the neritic facies of the Upper Middle-Upper Eocene of the SE Ebro basin.
  • Biostratigraphy of marine Oligocene-Miocene foraminifers from the Tethys and the Caribbean.
  • Participation in the edition of the Atlas “Paleocene shallow larger benthic foraminifera”.
  • Systematics and biostratigraphy of the Cenozoic macroforaminifers of the Dhofar (Sultanate of Oman) and Socotra (Yemen).
  • Review of the current systematics of the agglutinated macroforaminifers of the Eocene.
  • Correlation of the shallow benthic macroforaminiferal zones of the Tethys domain with the macroforaminiferal associations of the Indian domain.
