The Organizing Committee takes pleasure in inviting you to participate in the 14th SIS Symposium in Barcelona, June 9-14, 2002.

This biennial international symposium will cover recent progress in fundamental aspects (adsorption and self-aggregation properties, characterisation, rheological properties, etc.) and all types of technological applications of surfactants.

The Symposium will consist of plenary sessions, lectures by specially invited speakers, and other contributions such as oral papers and posters. The Symposium will be structured to encourage interactions among scientists and to stimulate the exchange of ideas. It will offer an opportunity to bring together experts from academia and industry to summarize the current progress in the field of surfactants. Special features in this Symposium will be:

1st Kash Mittal Plenary Lecture
Symposium on Surfactants in Inks, Paints and Coatings
Symposium on Interfacial Properties: Rheology, Tension and Elasticity

Young researchers will be eligible for reduced registration fees and may apply for grants. The Symposium will also include a technical exhibition related to the surfactant field. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Barcelona! You will be delighted by the charm of the city.
