Catalan courses for summer 2025
Save your summer for Catalan!
This summer we’re offering Catalan courses as usual, seeing as summer is the perfect season for language learning and definitely a great moment to start studying Catalan or brush up on what you already know.
Our courses are open to university students and all those adult learners who have the basic academic skills to take a university language course. The courses are offered at different times between the end of June and the beginning of October, and the enrolment fee also covers the examination you take at the end to get an official Catalan language certificate.
Basic (A1 + A2)
Intensive 80-hour face-to-face course for those taking their first steps with Catalan. Classes are combined with cultural activities to create a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere, ideal for immersing yourself in the language.

Faculty of Information and Audiovisual MediaA1 + A280 hours Dates Times From 2 to 30 July 2025Enrolment Mon to Fri, 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The exam will be held on the last day of class.
It is possible to take only the first half of the course, to obtain certification of level A1, or, for those students who can certify A1, to take only the second half of the course, to obtain certification of A2.

Faculty of Information and Audiovisual MediaA250 hours Dates Times From 14 to 30 July 2025 Mon to Fri, 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The exam will be held on the last day of class.
B1 - Elementary
If you can get by in Catalan but want to give your learning a boost, this course will give you the opportunity to progress at a good pace. It combines face-to-face classes with independent learning activities. You will quickly find it easier to express yourself in everyday situations.

* Holidays during August. Classes resume on 2 September. Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media60 + 20 h Dates Times From 26 June to 2 October 2025* Tues and Thurs, 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. This course comprises 60 hours of face-to-face learning and 20 hours of independent learning via a Catalan learning platform. The written exam will be held on October 7, 2025 and the oral exam on October 9, 2025.
